Automated Pinterest Branding With Drupal | 04.10.12
I've been a hobbyist photographer for years, and I've only recently decided to set up my own online store for my artistic shots. It wasn't really until I got serious with my photography that I took an "active Pinterest." What appeared initially to me as a social network for sharing recipes and makeup tips has really opened my eyes to what's out there for photographers. I've been able to share my work, and I've also picked up a ton of inspiration from photographers that, admittedly, run circles around me with their own work.
Why multimedia craftsmanship matters in content marketing | 04.09.12
You can tell the difference between handywork done by a craftsman and work done by a do-it-yourselfer who only cares about quick fixes and instant gratification. The same can be said about multimedia projects done for the purposes of content marketing. Multimedia, probably even more so than other forms of communication, not only mirrors your work ethic, but amplifies it. That's why a little good old-fashioned pride in workmanship matters in audio and video done for social media marketing.
Debunking video marketing "gurus" with three chips on their shoulder | 04.02.12
Face, meet palm. I made a minor resolution for myself for 2012. As I get deeper into the world of content marketing, I promised myself I wouldn't get bent out of shape when I noticed someone giving their clients advice that was inadaquate, ill-conceived or just plain stupid. For the record, I rarely keep my New Years Resolutions.
Connecting two microphones to a consumer HD video camera | 03.13.12
Sound is one of the most important factors to creating a successful online video, and too often overlooked. Here's another quick tip to help you get the most out of your inexpensive video equipment.

Thirteen Questions To Ask Yourself Before Doing A Podcast For Your Business | 02.27.12
Thinking about adding podcasting to your business' overall social media marketing mix? If you are, you're either looking at the beginning of great things or something that will eventually be too easily filed under the heading of "learning experience."
Snapseed brings serious instant gratification to aspiring photographers | 02.14.12
I'm by no means a serious photographer. I'm guessing most of you reading this are not serious photographers either, but like me, you love it when good shots can turn out great with very little time and money invested. But for me, my obsessively-perfectionist personality led me to laboring for hours over gigabytes of photos and using multiple editing programs to get just the right effect I wanted.
Are pocket video cameras on the way out? | 02.09.12
First Cisco buried the Flip. Now Kodak is getting ready to deep-six its entire camera line, including its pocket video cameras. Somewhere out there, Sony is throwing its Bloggie division a great big party.
Creating a comfort zone for on-camera interviews | 02.08.12
As a general rule, people don't like being on camera. Unless they're in a profession where being photographed is a norm, people generally feel a certain level of discomfort when you put a camera in their face. This makes compelling interviews for your social media channels more difficult to achieve and less effective in the eyes of your viewers. So what are you doing shoving that cheap shoot-and-share video camera right in their face?
To 1080p or not to 1080p? That's a good question! | 01.31.12
"What resolution should my social media videos be in?" This is a question I get a lot. With the popularity of high-definition video, especially in video cameras, there's a lot of confusion of what resolution to make your social media videos. Should you 1080p? Does it matter?
